Closing the Circle

It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of Cerridwen's Teaching Circle.  While we have had what I consider a great deal of interest in our group the attendance is not enough to keep going.  I get unsolicited emails from local Pagans saying that they are so glad there is a local group but they only wish they had time to participate.  It is a busy world we live in and I understand that it can be hard to find time for things.  I have tried to keep the group  open as long as possible so that folks can find the time to join us.  We deferred dues so that the group was more accessible, lowered our age limit to 18 at the request of potential members, and even tried to have more meetings where members can bring their children so that child care wouldn't be an obstacle.

Unfortunately it has reached a point where I can no longer keep the circle open.  I can no longer afford to cover all of the group's costs.  For time, money and health reasons no longer can I cover the responsibilities of multiple offices and be responsible for the presentations.  Sadly this means that as there are not enough active members to take over these functions the circle must close.

I will keep our website here and Facebook page active for a bit, and if we get a sufficient amount of folks interested in reopening the circle by this fall then perhaps we will give it another go.

To all those who I have met and spoken with through CTC, it has been a pleasure and I wish you all the best on your journeys.

Blessings,
Raven Rin

Summer Potluck Picnic 2012

We will be having our Summer Potluck Picnic on Friday, July 13th from 6pm to 8pm!

Members are encouraged to bring friends and family to this event, and children of all ages are welcome to come with a parent or guardian.  Please try to let Rev. Raven Rin know in advance if you will be bringing your Witchlings and their ages so that she can try to have some activities planed just for them.  You can email her at cerridwenscircle@yahoo.com.

Our picnic will be rain or shine, we've got places to keep dry even in the event of a downpour.

Rev. Raven Rin will be giving free Tarot readings at the picnic.

Have a drum, maraca, tambourine, or other percussion instrument?
Bring it with you for the drum circle.

Feeding of the water fowl is permitted so bring any stale bread you have around.
Remember, to throw away unused bread is to throw away your prosperity.
Share it with our feathered friends instead.

Nature trail available as well as;
tennis courts, basketball courts, batting cages,
playgrounds, dog park, fishing, and public restrooms.

Members will bring:

a potluck dish
(maybe two if you are bringing guests so that everyone has enough to eat)

All attending will bring:

their own place setting
(cup, flatware, plate)

a blanket or chair
(in case we choose to sit in the grass but we are planning on being in a pavilion)

their own non-alcoholic beverage

bug spray is optional

May Meeting 2012

Remember to mark your calendars for Friday May 11th from 6 PM to 8 PM!

Our May meeting is on Esbat Rituals and we will be preforming an outdoor ritual together.  Wear everyday clothes, that you don't mind if they get a little dirty, and practical shoes.  You may want to bring a flashlight in case the sun sets before we leave the ritual area.  Try to pack light so that we don't draw undo attention.  Rin will email members the exact meeting location prior to the meeting.

After the ritual we will be enjoying a pot luck together.  Remember in addition to your contribution to the potluck to bring your own place setting and a
non-alcoholic beverage.

Cerridwen's Teaching Circle business cards have been ordered and will arrive before the May meeting.  Anyone who would like to take a few to distribute please let Rin know at the meeting.

We are accepting new members.  Anyone who would like to join us should fill out a Membership Application and email it to cerrridwenscircle@yahoo.com.  We'd love to welcome you into our Circle.
Blessings,
Cerridwen's Teaching Circle
